Spam

Under Tools > Spam there is now a dedicated page for handling spam issues on the website.  From here you can do the following:

• Enable Akismet (described below)
• View blocked IPs
• Add new IPs here to block

An IP will automatically be added into the spam filter list if you mark it as spam, as noted below

Mark as spam

Under several areas of Aurora you can mark an item as spam, which will therefore ban that IP from posting information via the following areas:

• Blog comments.  Content > Comments
• Reviews.  Products > Reviews
• Questions & Answers. Products > Q&A
• Contact forms.  Orders > Enquiries

To view the spam list, you can go into Tools > Spam.

Akismet

Aurora has a direct integration into Akismet that will send customer input over to their servers to verify if they believe it is spam, before it is sent onto you.  Please go to their website to sign-up for a key.  

This is a much more thorough and professional service for spam management and is highly recommended.  It is currently used in the following places in Aurora, so the information won't ever come through to you:

• Blog comments
• Reviews
• Job postings
• Contact forms
