EBay Guide
This guide explains what the Aurora eBay integration can do and how to use it.
Using this first article, you will learn how to set-up and/or configure the Aurora eBay integration (which you should only need to do once when enabling the integration for the first time).
To use eBay in Aurora, there are a few things that need to be configured by Aurora Commerce on your behalf. This only needs to be done once, but if it has not be done or you are unsure, please contact your Aurora Commerce Account Manager for further assistance before starting to use the system
Overview
Aurora's eBay Integration provides a quick and simple way to increase your product's exposure by listing them on eBay and automatically Importing orders placed on eBay into Aurora. Found in this section is a guide to help get you started and a quick list of common problems you might come across and how to solve them.
Set-up
Go to Store > Settings > Feeds > eBay and check 'Product upload enabled' and 'Live'. Use this area to set any default eBay integration settings such as delivery method, delivery type etc.
When you edit a product there is now a 'Feeds' tab. You can use this tab to set each product's eBay integration values, including but not limited to:
- eBay Product and Store category
- Price and description
- Shipping methods
When a product runs out of stock, it will be removed from eBay during the next scheduled synchronisation (usual once every 15 minutes), as long as that product is still set to be sent to eBay.
When a product is removed from Aurora, the related listing on eBay is ended.
How to Set-up eBay in Aurora
It is highly recommended that before enabling eBay in Aurora, you contact your Aurora Commerce Account Manager to discuss your requirements.
Some development is always required the first time this integration is enabled for a site, but in addition to this, it is wise to ensure that your requirements are met fully by the integration.
Step One: Seller Account
Make sure you have an eBay Seller Account.
The Seller Account is what you use to actually see your product son eBay. Aurora will connect to this using your Developer Account (see step #2 below) when it needs to list your products for sale or download your orders.
This must be set-up by yourselves through eBay and is not something Aurora Commerce is able to do on your behalf.
Step Two: Developer Account
Make sure you have an eBay Developer Account.
This must be set-up by yourselves through eBay and is not something Aurora Commerce is able to do on your behalf. You may do this via the following URL:
https://developer.ebay.com/signin
eBay check their developer accounts and the approval process can take up to 24 hours (according to eBay at the time this article was produced). As such, please be sure to set-up your developer account well in advance of it being needed.
Once you have your developer account, you should create your Production Key as detailed here:
Step Three: Authorise Aurora (Get and Auth Token)
To do this, you should use the "Get a User Token Here" option from the "User Tokens" section in your eBay Developer account:
https://developer.ebay.com/my/auth/?env=production&index=0
Simply complete the process as described on screen at the above URL and then copy the Auth Token issued to you by eBay (with all other related details e.g. App ID, Dev ID & Cert ID) into your Aurora Store (see Step #4 below).
eBay may give you the option to 'Save' the token and its details. If it does, please ignore this process as it is not necessary. Simply select the entire Token and copy it for use in step 3 below.
Step Four: Set-up Aurora
Load the Aurora Back-end and enter the Store > Settings > Feeds section. In here there is a section for eBay. Complete all fields in this section, using the Auth Token gained in Step 2 and any other information it requires, all of which should be available from the eBay account section on the eBay website.
Step Five: Have Aurora Commerce enable eBay on the server
The final step required to ensure the eBay integration is running is for Aurora Commerce to add the eBay synchronisation tasks to the server's scheduled list of tasks. This is a one-off job that will require a billable development, varying from 1 hour to several depending on your specific needs. You should contact your Aurora Commerce Account Manager to enquire about having this process performed for you.
This process may have been done for you already, so do please check first. If you are unsure, please contact your Aurora Commerce Account Manager for assistance.
