Banned Shipping Rules and Countries
Products can be banned from shipping to specific countries or via specific shipping SKUs.
This article details how to view existing restrictions and add new ones.
Introduction
There may be occasions when you need to prevent particular items from shipping to specific countries. You may also need to exclude a particular Shipping SKU from selection at the checkout when certain items are in the basket. Within Aurora, there are two types of restrictions available, giving you the ability to implement:
- Restriction by Country
Prevent a product from being shipped to specific countries. - Restriction by Shipping SKU
Prevent a Shipping SKU from appearing on the basket and checkout pages for selection.
If one item in a customers basket is banned from shipping to a specific country, or prevented from using a particular shipping rule, all other products in the same basket will also be affected.
Adding Restrictions
Restrictions are applied on a product by product basis. To apply a restriction, navigate to the Products > All Products > Edit Product > Inventory tab for the product you would like to add a shipping restriction to. Restrictions are maintained under the Shipping Restrictions heading.
Country Restrictions
To add a country restriction to a product:
Select the country from the Country drop down menu, and select the icon.

The added country will then appear in the Restricted Countries list. Multiple countries can be added to this list using the same step.
Shipping Restrictions
To add a shipping restriction to a product:
Select the shipping SKU from the Shipping SKU drop down menu, and select the icon.

The added shipping SKU will then appear in the Restricted Shipping SKUs list. Multiple SKUs can be added to this list using the same step.
To remove a restricted shipping SKU or country from the relevant list, click the icon located next to the items you wish to remove.
Viewing All Restrictions
As restrictions are applied on a product by product basis, it is often useful to see an overview of all restrictions that are currently in effect on your store.
To view this list, navigate to the Orders > Shipping > Banned page. Restrictions are displayed in two lists, categorised by shipping SKU and country. You can hover your mouse over each product to get more information, or click on the product to edit the restrictions in place.
