Automatic Order Status Updates
This article describes how to configure Aurora to automatically update the order status based on the products within the basket.
Introduction
When an order is created, Aurora can automatically update the order status based on a defined set of rules that will match against product fields of ordered items.
These rules can be configured from within the Aurora Back-end, under Store > Settings > Aurora > Orders > Automatic Order Status Updates as seen below:

Each rule contains the following values:
Field | Description | Length | Example |
---|---|---|---|
Condition | When the rule should apply: Order contains a product with field and value Order contains only products with field and value | ||
Product Field | The product additional field to be matched. | Subscription | |
Product Field Value | The product additional field value to be matched. When an empty value is entered, the rule will be ignored. | 0-32 | 1 |
Order Status | The order status to be used when the rule is matched. | Despatched |
Where an order status has been automatically updated due to a defined rule, an order note will be added to reflect the change i.e.

Order Status Updates rules are applied on order creation and as such, rules will only be applied to orders that are placed after a rule is added.
The order status can also be updated by Fraud results which are applied after the order has been created and the Automatic Order Status Update rules are applied.
If you use the Update order status on fraud results? option, you may wish to update this to only update the order status when the order is not already Despatched or Cancelled i.e.
