Barcodes

This article explains the use of the Order related barcodes in Aurora.

Introduction

Aurora provides the ability to scan barcodes on the order listing page.

Barcode scanning

This feature is currently only available on the Order Listing page.

Global Settings

Settings for this feature can be found in Store > Settings > Aurora > Orders.

User Specific Settings

In addition to enabling/disabling this globally for all users, you are able to enable/disable this setting for individual users if you so wish from the Aurora Back-end under Users > All Users > Edit User in the User Info tab under "Enable barcode scanning on orders list", as shown below:

Value mapping

Once a barcode has been scanned, Aurora performs an internal lookup for an order associated with the data extracted from the barcode.

Barcode values can be assigned to an order in two different ways:

  • Via an Order Additional Field called "Barcode Value"
  • Via an Ordered Items Additional Field of the same name

Order Additional Field values take priority over Ordered Item Additional Field values.

The Barcode Value must either be the order ID or an alphanumerical value in order for Aurora to successfully resolve the barcode to an order.
