eBay Errors

This article explains how Aurora records and handles error that occur when listing products or downloading orders on eBay.

Using this section, you can learn how to manage your products better and deal with errors that occur due to data or system issues that may occur.

Overview

If Aurora experiences an error while uploading your product to eBay, you can begin to work out how to fix this by:

  1. checking the contents of the error returned
  2. changing any information flagged as problematic in the error report
  3. saving your changes

Once saved from the Product > Edit page, your product will be sent to eBay again right away and any errors that occur again reported if it is still not successful. With this being the case, if you save a product and the error does not vanish, then this means the error happened again and you may need to:

  • adjust the change you made again to see if another attempt helps.
  • contact eBay to find out why there are still rejecting your data if you are sure it is now correct.
  • contact Aurora Commerce support to see if there is a system error causing this problem that can be resolved.

If you are viewing errors via the 'Integration Errors' section and opt to click the 'Try Again' button, then Aurora will attempt to send the product to eBay again on the spot, but will re-add the error should it occur again.

Typical error you may experience

When dealing with error reported to you by Aurora from eBay, you may find it helpful to refer the to following document with reference to the error message given:

Other errors you may encounter

"Authorisation token is hard expired." OR "Validation of the authentication token in API request failed."

Solution: This can happen for a number of reasons, including a change of password on the eBay account being used or just an
eBay policy change. When it does occur, you need to request a new Auth Token. Once you have completed this process, you simply
copy the token provided by eBay (there is no need to save the token in eBay itself as suggested) and replace the old Auth Token
found in Aurora's Store > Settings > Feeds > eBay section with the new Auth Token.

NOTE: The auth token is case sensitive and must be pasted into aurora exactly as it is provided by eBay, including no
additional spaces at the end of the beginning of the token and no carriage returns added or removed. This is a very common cause
of this update process failing.

No product found for ProductListingDetails .

Solution: These errors do not prevent your listings from being created as they are simply a warning issued by eBay to inform you that the EAN number that you have provided for the product did not match anything they have in their internal database. To remedy this, you should check to make sure that you have provided a genuine and recognised EAN for the effected product, but leaving this as it is only means that eBay will not list any additional product details from their own catalogue.

Duration cannot be revised, possible reasons: the item has bid or active Best Offers or is ending in 12 hours, the item is a shop item, or the item is an ad-format item.

Solution: If you receive this error, then you must wait until the auction has finished before resending the product to eBay. You can leave this product in its error status until the related auction has finished and then resolve the error in the Error Terminal or by saving the product again. Once the auction is over and the product re-sent to eBay, the item will be listed with the modified details.

Internal error to the application

Solution: This is eBay's way of telling Aurora that something went wrong in eBay, but it does not know what. This is usually
a temporary service issue, a bug in eBay or perhaps a load issue at their end. Unfortunately there is very little Aurora can do to
resolve this other then to wait until the issue is resolved and try again. With this being the case, is is normally sufficient to
simply tell Aurora to 'Try Again' on these errors on the 'Integration Errors' page or by saving the product on the Product Edit
page.

A product with the Ref #EXAMPLESKU could not be found locally. It is important that this is investigated to avoid loss of orders made on Amazon/eBay with these products.

Solution: These errors are referring to an attempt by one of the eBay or Amazon integrations to import and order for a product that could not be found in Aurora. Ignoring these errors can lead to orders from eBay and Amazon not being imported into Aurora. To fix these issues, you should check that the 'Ref' given is correct and matches up (exactly) with one of your product's references/SKUs in Aurora. If it does not, then you must correct the SKU on the order in the integration or enter the requested SKU on a product in Aurora. Aurora will then simply import the order during its next scheduled import.

Fetching transactions FAILED (ERROR: 16101 - Inaccurate Data Warnings)

Solution: Unfortunately there is no solution to this issue. It is caused within eBay's internal systems and occurs when data (usually orders) are requested and the data returned in not correct because of some internal eBay issue. There is nothing that can be done by Aurora to correct such errors, however eBay does advise that when this occurs, the data should simply be requested again until it is correct, to a limit. If this limit is reached, then the request must be put on hold for 10 minutes before trying again, during which time the issue should resolve itself internally (within eBay).

As there is nothing Aurora can do about this particular error, it simply ignore data returned where this occurs and tries again later. This issue should cause only a delay of 30 to 45 minutes to the importing of orders as they should be imported on the very next scheduled attempt, but if you find this error is occurring persistently, the only option is to contact eBay directly regarding the problem.

The item cannot be listed or modified. The title or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

Solution: When this error occurs for a product, it means that eBay has rejected the product for some reason. This can be because there is something in the title or description the eBay has decided to reject or that eBay has placed some kind of restrictions on the eBay account being used to list items on that is preventing the product from being listed. Read this article to see more information regarding this issue.

To resolve this error, you must remove the offending text from the Title or Description or contact eBay directly if this doe snot help (to address any account restrictions applied to the account).

PayPal may delay the settlement of funds to ensure smooth transactions - This maybe related to the PayPal account.

Solution: For help with this error, please read the following article: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/payment_unavailable.html

Duplicate custom variation label

Solution: This is cause by two things:

  1. There is more than one variation with the same Variation Reference (SKU) for the product in question
  2. The Main Product Reference (SKU) for the product in question is the same as one or more of the Variation References

It is not recommend to have duplicate SKUs in this way as a general practice as it can cause confusion in Aurora, but particularly it can cause integrations such as Amazon and eBay to identify products incorrectly.

To resolve this, make sure that all Product and Variation Reference values are unique and Aurora should begin to list the products with its next scheduled upload to eBay.

Error that can be ignored

The following is a list of errors that are in fact simply warnings or notices from eBay that you can ignore:

  • The Return Policy field ReturnsWithin in the input has been ignored.
