Email Preview

You can preview emails by going into Aurora > View Orders > Clicking on an order > Clicking on the "Order Status" tab.  In this area you will see a "Preview Email" button, that will preview anything entered in the text area above.  You can select from your existing list of emails using "Base this text on this email" as well.  

As long as "Notify Customer" is ticked, it will send the email out upon clicking "Update Order" so you can test it in your email to clients.  

Another trick

Below is a quick trick you can be quickly sent an email of a specific email you have saved under Orders > Emails

Authorised Returns
aurora/orders/emails/preview?email_type=Authorised%20Return&return_reference=my_return_reference&email_address=your_email_address

In this example, you would change "my_return_reference" to a Returns Reference from Aurora > Orders > Returns and change "your_email_address" to your own email address.

Types of emails

TypeDescription
Authorised ReturnsThis is when a return is automatically authorised, either in the front-end via the members area, or done in the back-end. The text should include a Returns Reference and show the items that are being returned. You can include the refund amount in here as well.
Returns RequestDesigned for when a customer requests a return, but it is not authorised. This could be because it’s not within the 14 day automatic returns request period.
RefundShould be used purely for emailing a customer notification of a refund, without displaying the items that were returned. May be useful if you overcharged the customer or want to give free shipping.
New OrderThe email that is originally sent out when someone places an order.
Forgot PasswordFor when someone requests their password.
New UserWhen someone registers for a new account. Should include their username and password.
Order DespatchedFor when an order is despatched.

This type will also be used to send an automated email when changing an order to a status that has been configured with the "Goods Sent" flag.
Cancelled OrderOnce an order is cancelled, you can set a default email to be sent with the cancelled items
Request ReviewIf you want a customer to automatically receive a review after their purchase
Question AnsweredIf a customer asks a question and you answer it, the email they receive to notify them.
