Product Overview
The product Overview tab is used to enter key information relating to a product and its variations.
This article provides an explanation of each field.
Introduction
The Overview tab contains general information regarding the product being viewed, such as its name, reference, and the description that will be displayed to customers.
As with most features in Aurora, your stores front-end templates will determine how this information is displayed to customers. Your Digital Agency will be able to customise your templates to meet your requirements, and please contact them for further information.
Fields
| Field Name | Description |
| Product Name | The name of the product. |
| Product Reference | The unique reference of your product. |
| Product Style Code | Products of the same style can be grouped together on the product listing page by style code. This allows you to manage products with variations, such as colour, as separate products in Aurora, therefore having their own dedicated product details pages - whilst still listing them as one common product on product listing pages. Further information can be found in Grouping Products by Retailer (Style) Code. |
| Live? | Enable or disable the product. |
| Searchable? | Specifies if the product is shown in product listing pages and search results. If this option is not checked, the product can still be viewed and purchased, for example, using a direct link to the products URL. |
| Show in Fitting Room | Determines if the product is used in the "fitting room". If you don't currently use the fitting room feature, and are interested in doing so, please contact your Digital Agency. If your product is not configured for use in the fitting room, the message "This product is not ready for listing in the Fitting Room" will be shown. Show Enables the product for use in the fitting room. Hide Prevents the product from being used in the fitting room. |
| Search Terms | This field can be used to provide specific terms that customers can use to search for this product. |
| Internal Notes | Holds any internal notes for this product. |
| Selling Text Product Description | Enter any text or HTML that you would like to appear on the product details page. Content can be specified in both the Selling Text and Product Description fields. You can provide: String of text An extract of HTML (including locations of images) The WYSIWYG editor can be used to apply simple formatting to text. More information on the WYSIWYG editor can be found later in this article. |
| Template | Select the product details template that should be used to display the product. Templates are defined on the Store > Templates page. For more information, see Settings: Templates. |
| Review Template | Select the review template that is used for reviews submitted for this product. Review settings and templates are defined on the Store > Reviews > Review Settings and Store > Reviews > Review Templates pages respectively. For more information, please see Reviews. |
| Scheduler | The scheduler can be used to publish and unpublish a product at pre-set times. This can be particularly useful when you would like a product to go live at unsociable hours. |
| Length/Height/Width Weight | Specify the dimensions and weight of the product. This information can be used to aid with shipping. |
| Dimension Units | Specify the units that the dimensions and weight are measured in. |
WYSIWYG Editor
When enabled, the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor provides a user interface similar to a word processor that can be used to create simple HTML code. When disabled, any content will be shown with its respective HTML syntax.
The editor can be enabled or disabled at any point in time.
