Merchandising Items per Page

Set how many products per page you want to offer to your customers on the Product (Category) Listings page.

Overview

What would you like the default number of products per page to be?  What other options would you like to offer your customer base?  Here you can set this up.

The number of items per page that display in the front-end for a product listing page adhere to the below rules. Rules are followed the listed order. I.e. First parameter used, if available. If the first parameter doesn't have a specified value in Aurora, the next is used from the list, and so forth:

The number of items per page/items per first page should not persist across different categories.

Search results also adhere to above functionality, (likely resulting in "Items First page" and "Items Per page" fields on Merchandising > Settings being used).

Product Listing First Page

  1. "Items First page" is used from Products > Categories.

  2. "Items First page" is used from Merchandising > Settings.

  3. "Items Per page" is used from Products > Categories.

  4. "Items Per page" field is used from Merchandising > Settings.

  5. First items per page entry in items per page table.

  6. System defaults to showing all items in first page, as no values specified in Aurora.

Product Listing Second Page Onwards

  1. "Items Per page" is used from Products > Categories.

  2. "Items Per page" field is used from Merchandising > Settings.

  3. First items per page entry in items per page table.

  4. System defaults to showing all items in first page, as no values specified in Aurora.

Custom Selections

  • If the user makes a custom selection in front-end (20/40/60/120 etc), this overrides any items per page (excluding items per first page) specified, for that category only.
  • When user navigates to another category, their selection will be saved for the category in which it was selected, though not used in other categories. If user navigates back to the previous category where they made a custom selection, the custom selected paging (and item per first page) will be followed again.
  • If the user makes a custom selection in front-end (20/40/60/120 etc) whilst on any page other than the first page of a category/search results (i.e. page 3 of x), user is taken to the first page (1 of x) with new pagination settings applied. (If an "items first page" value is set, page 1 will understandably not have the custom selected number of items, though subsequent pages (2+ of x) will).
  • Custom selections are reset for new sessions.

❗️

The larger number of products on a page, the longer it will take to load. You should be careful not to make this number an unreasonably high amount, as it will degrade site performance.
