Blog

This article details the features available to the Templates under the Blog section of the Aurora Front-end.

Here you can find out how to list Blog articles, work with various settings in the Aurora Back-end affecting them and generally find out about any template features the Blog supports.

Overview

The blog consists of 3 files that you will need to edit in order to create the design you require.  These are all noted below.

Main

blog/main.tpl.html is used for the purpose of displaying all recent blog entries, which can be controlled via settings.

Single

blog/single.tpl.html is designed for single blog pages, where a user will end up on once they have clicked through to read the full article.

Comments

blog/comments.tpl.html is used for displaying the user comments and the comments form on the blog/single.tpl.html

Aurora Settings

Number of days to keep Content Views

This setting in the Aurora Back-end > Store > Settings section allows you to control over what period the views are counted. For example this defaults to 90 days, but if you set it to 30, then the views that are counted will only include the last 30 days worth of activity.

Blog URL structure

Aurora will format a blog's URL automatically for you based on a format configured in the Aurora Back-end under Store > Settings > Blog > Permalink Structure.

🚧

While this format is used by your blogs by default, it is possible to have your Blogs not use this format using the "Use blog permalink URL?" setting on the Content Blog Edit page, which allows you to have a blog use the filename alone for its URL.
